Enhanced Pat-Downs At NFL Games? America Is Rapidly Turning Into A High-Security Prison

This country is undergoing fundamental changes and everything that our forefathers passed down to us is in danger of being wiped out forever.

The NFL has announced that it will be implementing "enhanced" pat-downs at all 32 NFL stadiums.  Once this is fully implemented, the 16 million fans that attend games each season will be frisked from the ankles to the knees and from the waist up.  Apparently this new level of security was brought on by a recent incident where a Cowboys fan smuggled a stun gun into a game between the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys and started zapping other fans with it.  As usual, authorities have responded to a minor security incident by massively overreacting to it.  In the post-9/11 world in which we live, paranoia is standard operating procedure.  Those that are responsible for security are far more interested in "covering their backsides" than they are in respecting the liberty, freedom and dignity of average Americans.  America is rapidly turning into a high-security prison.  When naked body scanners and "enhanced pat-downs" went into U.S. airports, those that warned that we would soon see these types of "Big Brother" security measures pop up at train stations, bus stations, shopping malls and sporting events were dismissed as "conspiracy theorists".  But it turns out that the "conspiracy theorists" did not even fully understand how quickly all of this nonsense was going to spread.  How much "security" is going to be enough?  Where in the world is the line going to be drawn?  If groping all fans is "necessary" for security at all NFL games, how long will it be before it is implemented at all other sporting events across the United States?

The truth is that no matter how hard they try, those in charge of our "security" cannot keep us perfectly safe.  Life is dangerous and bad things are going to happen no matter how much "security" you throw around.

We have a choice.  We can live as free men without fear, or we can cower in terror and call for increasingly repressive layers of "security".  If we continue on the path that we are on, this nation is going to become a totalitarian "Big Brother" police state so repressive that it will make our founding fathers roll over in their graves.

In fact, they are probably already rolling over in their graves.

Do you enjoy living in a prison grid?  That is what this country is becoming.

Once upon a time, going to an NFL game was great fun.  But like with so many other things, "Big Brother" is sucking all of the joy out of that too.

The following is from a USA Today article which describes that new "security" procedures at NFL stadiums....

    Under the new "enhanced" pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from the ankles to the knees as well as the waist up. Previously, security guards only patted down fans from the waist up while looking for booze, weapons or other banned items.

Do you want to wait in incredibly long lines to get into a game while security thugs grope fellow fans as if they were a herd of cattle?

I think that I will be more than happy to sit home and watch the games on television.

Where will this end?

If we keep going to the games and act as if nothing has changed, then they are going to see that as a sign that they can tighten our shackles even more.

Yes, of course nobody ever wants to see something bad happen, but do we really have to live like this?

All government agencies that have anything to do with national security should be given a dual mandate.  Instead of just focusing on "security" at any cost, they should be required by law to provide security while pledging to never compromise the liberty, freedom, honor and dignity of the American people while doing so.

If those in charge of our security right now cannot protect us without compromising our liberty, freedom, honor and dignity then they need to immediately resign and allow someone else to do the job.

Right now, those that are supposed to be "protecting" us treat us all like a bunch of trash.

Rather than shielding us from "the enemy", they actually treat us as though we are the enemy.

It started in our airports, but now futuristic "Big Brother" police state security measures are being implemented at subway stops, bus stations, ports, shopping malls, highway rest stops and sporting events.

We are spending billions upon billions of dollars on programs that are turning us a little bit more into North Korea every single day.

Did you know that TSA "VIPR teams" now conduct approximately 8,000 "unannounced security screenings" every year at subway stations, bus terminals, seaports and highway rest stops?

Should we be proud that in America today, goons in black uniforms conduct "out-of-nowhere" security sweeps at transportation hubs and at public events?

What in the world is happening to us?

In prison, you should expect to be locked down and frisked by security thugs at any moment.

But I thought that we lived in America.

And you know who is going to be flocking to fill these security goon positions?

Yes, you guessed it.  For the growing number of perverts and child molesters in America, these are going to be dream jobs.

As a security goon, they can legally touch the bodies of other people and get paid while doing it!

But unleashing hordes of security goons is not enough for the government.  Now they want us to snitch on one another.  That is what the whole "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign is all about.

When I was growing up, East Germany was a nation that was despised because of their repressive totalitarian police state.

But now we are becoming just like East Germany.

Sadly, things will soon become even more repressive.

Are you ready to be monitored for "pre-crime"?  Yes, new technology will soon be watching you at public events that will determine whether or not you have the "intent" to commit a crime.  If you fail any of the "psysiological" or "behavioral" tests, you will be flagged for "suspicious activity" and security goons will pull you off the street.  This new program was described in a recent article by Paul Joseph Watson....

    Homeland Security is also developing technology to be used at “security events” which purports to monitor “malintent” on behalf of an individual who passes through a checkpoint. The promotional video for the program explains how “Future Attribute Screening Technology” (FAST) checkpoints will conduct “physiological” and “behavioral” tests in order to weed out suspected terrorists and criminals.

In America today, watching for "suspicious activity" has become a very high priority.  As I wrote about recently, an FBI document that is being distributed to stores and hotels says that "suspicious activity" now includes....

-paying with cash

-missing a hand or fingers

-"strange odors"

-making "extreme religious statements"

-"radical theology"

-purchasing weatherproofed ammunition or match containers

-purchasing meals ready to eat

-purchasing night vision devices, night flashlights or gas masks

Do any of those apply to you?

I have also written about how our children are being trained to accept living in a repressive "Big Brother" prison grid.  Life in U.S. public schools is becoming a little more like life in U.S. prisons every single day.

Our kids are being conditioned to accept that it is okay for "authorities" to constantly watch them, track them, record what they do, search them for no reason and put them on "lock down" at any time.

Somewhere along the way, the American people became the biggest threat.  Instead of an "enemy" that lives on the other side of the world, we are now being told that our biggest enemy may be our neighbor or the person traveling in the seat right next to us.

Since the American people are the biggest threat, it has become necessary to monitor everything that we do and say.

Just check out what a recent Politico article had to say about how things have changed in the post-9/11 world....

    At the NSA, thousands of analysts who once eavesdropped on troop movements of enemy soldiers in distant countries were now listening in on the bedroom conversations of innocent Americans in nearby states.

    “We were told that we were to listen to all conversations that were intercepted, to include those of Americans,” Adrienne Kinne, a former NSA “voice interceptor,” told me. She was recalled to active duty after Sept. 11.

    “Some of those conversations are personal,” she said. “Some even intimate. … I had a real problem with the fact that people were listening to it and that I was listening to it. … When I was on active duty in ’94 to ’98, we would never collect on an American.”

Are you disturbed by this?

If not, you might want to check to see if you are actually an American.

Of course some of the biggest abuses are happening at U.S. airports.  The following is what one of Steve Quayle's listeners recently shared with him about her own TSA experience....

    She proceeds through the upper body part, then moves down to the ankles and up one leg. As she reached the top, her hand hits the middle of my crotch area and she slightly "slides" it away from there. This area had NEVER been touched before, and I only asked her a simple question, "since when can you touch the crotch?" She immediately pulls back, stands up, and calls a supervisor! He comes over, she tells him what happened (although her words were, "she complained I touched her in a personal manner")...he proceeds to tell me she was following protocol. I told him I had been patted down 2 or 3 times this year, and had NEVER had anyone touch my crotch! I told him, I was sorry, but I was standing on my principles. One thing leads to another, eventually I was able to retrieve my cell fon, and tried my darndest to record the incident, without them knowing I was doing so, but could only get brief recordings, the best one is linked here (Real Player format). You hear the guy at the end hesitate to answer my question..unfortunately I wasn't aware it had stopped recording!

    Eventually the duty supervisor for my airline walked over and introduced himself. He was very kind and understanding. I asked him if this was going to get me in trouble at work. He told me, as far as he was concerned, not at all. He said his wife has a disability, and she also has complained at the intrusiveness of the TSA patdowns, so he fully understood my position. I told him, that as a Christian, this type of touching is totally unacceptable. He agreed!

    After just sitting in a chair, waiting around, they brought in the "Federal Security Director" of Sky Harbor!! He proceeds to inform me of my "options." He tells me that they can have another woman complete the procedure and I can then proceed through, or if I refuse, I would be further investigated and charged with a civil suit!

This type of behavior is absolutely outrageous.

So why are so many Americans still willing to get on to airplanes?

Have we become so desensitized that we are willing to be groped and manhandled like cattle just so that we can feel a little safer?

Sadly, even if you get through all of the scanners, the groping and the searches, you can still be pulled off your plane in handcuffs and interrogated for hours just because someone thinks that you look "suspicious".

If you do not think that such a thing can happen to you, just read this story.  After reading that story you will likely never want to get on to an airplane in the United States again.

It doesn't seem to matter whether the Republicans are in control or whether the Democrats are in control.  We just continue our sad march toward becoming a totalitarian police state no matter who is in charge.

Anyone that still believes that we live in "the land of the free and the home of the brave" is delusional.

Group Calls to Ban Pledge of Allegiance at Massachusetts Schools, Citing No Educational Value

American Disgrace Martin Rosenthal calls on Brookline public schools to ban the Pledge of Allegiance.

 Days before the 10th anniversary of 9/11 a leader from a group in Massachusetts is calling on public schools in one town to ban students from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, saying it has no educational value and the pressure it places on children to participate makes his “skin crawl,” The Boston Globe reported.

Martin Rosenthal, the co-chair of Brookline Political Action for Peace, or Brookline Pax, told the paper the pledge puts “kids in an uncomfortable situation” and doesn’t belong in schools.

The group, therefore, will ask town meeting voters in November to pass a nonbinding resolution on the ban in area public schools.

The pledge is recited once a week in Brookline public schools. It is said during morning announcements and children are afforded the opportunity to not participate.

Supporters of the ban say these children are often criticized by classmates and the ban would help stop the bullying.

But the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 is nearing, and criticism for the resolution has been swift.

Christie Coombs, a mother whose husband died on American Airlines Flight 11 during the attacks of Sept. 11, told The Boston Herald that the idea makes her “sick to her stomach.”

“America has been through a lot with the bad economy and soldiers dying in Afghanistan on a weekly basis, but we’ve pulled back together. A majority of Americans are proud to pay tribute to the flag,” she told the Herald.

Rebecca Stone, the school committee chairwoman, agreed that the pledge is “not of great educational value” but said, “We’re recognizing established and, in some cases, revered practices of the citizenry,” according to The Globe. “There is something to that in the public schools.”'

Stone said she doesn’t anticipate the school committee reconsidering its current policy, The Globe reported.

Rosenthal, meanwhile, told the Herald that he's not being unpatriotic; rather, he is “standing up for what’s great about this country.”

Joe Colantoni, a Korean War veteran, responded in the paper: “Tell him he’s full of (expletive).”

Working-Age Poor Population Highest Since '60s...Yet The Rich Get Richer

3 Out Of 5 Below The Poverty Line Are Now Adults Between 18 And 64 

Working-age America is the new face of poverty.

Counting adults 18-64 who were laid off in the recent recession as well as single twenty-somethings still looking for jobs, the new working-age poor represent nearly 3 out of 5 poor people — a switch from the early 1970s when children made up the main impoverished group.

While much of the shift in poverty is due to demographic changes — Americans are having fewer children than before — the now-weakened economy and limited government safety net for workers are heightening the effect.

Currently, the ranks of the working-age poor are at the highest level since the 1960s when the war on poverty was launched. When new census figures for 2010 are released next week, analysts expect a continued increase in the overall poverty rate due to persistently high unemployment last year.

If that holds true, it will mark the fourth year in a row of increases in the U.S. poverty rate, which now stands at 14.3 percent, or 43.6 million people.

"There is a lot of discussion about what the aging of the baby boom should mean for spending on Social Security and Medicare. But there is not much discussion about how the wages of workers, especially those with no more than a high school degree, are not rising," said Sheldon Danziger, a University of Michigan public policy professor who specializes in poverty.

"The reality is there are going to be a lot of working poor for the foreseeable future," he said, citing high unemployment and congressional resistance to raising the minimum wage.

The newest poor include Richard Bowden, 53, of southeast Washington, who has been on food stamps off and on the last few years. A maintenance worker, Bowden says he was unable to save much money before losing his job months ago. He no longer works due to hip and back problems and now gets by on about $1,000 a month in disability and other aid.

"At my work, we hadn't gotten a raise in two years, even while the prices of food and clothing kept going up, so I had little left over," Bowden said. "Now, after rent, the utility bill, transportation and other costs, my money is pretty much down to nothing."

"I pray and hope that things get better, but you just don't know," he said.

The poverty figures come at a politically sensitive time for President Barack Obama, after a Labor Department report last Friday showed zero job growth in August. The White House now acknowledges that the unemployment rate, currently at 9.1 percent, will likely average 9 percent through 2012.

Obama is preparing to outline a new plan for creating jobs and stimulating the economy in a prime-time address to Congress on Thursday. The Republican-controlled House has been adamant about requiring spending cuts in return for an increase in the federal debt limit. Suggested cuts have included proposals to raise the eligibility age for future Medicare recipients or to reduce other domestic programs in a way that would disproportionately affect the poor.

According to the latest census data, the share of poor who are ages 18-64 now stands at 56.7 percent, compared to 35.5 percent who are children and 7.9 percent who are 65 and older. The working-age share surpasses a previous high of 55.5 percent first reached in 2004.

Lower-skilled adults ages 18 to 34, in particular, have had the largest jumps in poverty as employers keep or hire older workers for the dwindling jobs available. The declining economic fortunes have caused many unemployed young Americans to double up in housing with parents, friends and loved ones.

In 1966, when the Census Bureau first began tracking the age distribution of the poor, children made up the biggest share of those in poverty, at 43.5 percent. Working-age adults comprised a 38.6 percent share, and Americans 65 and older represented nearly 18 percent.

Douglas Besharov, a University of Maryland public policy professor and former scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, says that expansions of the federal safety net including Social Security retirement and disability payments have been important in reducing poverty.

In 2009, for instance, the Census Bureau estimated that new unemployment benefits — which gave workers up to 99 weeks of payments after a layoff — helped keep 3.3 million people out of poverty. For 2010, Besharov said demographers on average expect an increase in poverty of roughly half a percentage point to nearly 15 percent, depending partly on the impact of unemployment insurance, which did not run out for many people until this year.

The current poverty level was set at $10,956 for one person and $21,954 for a family of four, based on an official government calculation that includes only cash income, before taxes. It excludes capital gains or accumulated wealth, such as home ownership, as well as noncash aid such as food stamps.

Taking noncash aid into account shifts the poverty numbers notably. Next month, the government will release new supplemental poverty numbers for the first time that will factor in food stamps and tax credits — which often benefit out-of-work families with children — but also everyday costs such as commuting that tend to have a bigger impact on working Americans.

Preliminary census estimates released this summer show a decline in child poverty based on the new measure and a jump in the shares of poor who are working age — from 56.7 percent to nearly 60 percent. In all, the child poverty rate decreases from 20.7 percent under the official poverty measure to 17.9 percent, according to estimates. But the senior poverty rate jumps from 8.9 percent to 15.6 percent after including out-of-pocket medical costs, and working-age adults see an increase in poverty from 12.9 percent to 14.9 percent.

Food banks say they see a shift to a new working poor.

"Americans from all walks of life are now finding themselves in need of help for the first time in their lives," said Vicki Escarra, president of Feeding America, a national network of food banks that is based in Chicago. She noted that demand has increased by 46 percent since the recession began in late 2007, with more than 1 in 3 families who get their assistance having one or more adults working.

"The reality is we all know someone who has lost a job or a crisis that has caused financial concern. In fact, some people who used to be donors to our Feeding America food banks are themselves now turning to us for help," she said.

Demographers expect next week's poverty report to show:

    A rise in working families who are low income, to nearly 1 in 3. "Low income" is defined as those making less than 200 percent of the poverty threshold, or about $43,000 for a family of four.
    Larger numbers of people who are uninsured, due to slightly higher rates of unemployment on average in 2010. Most provisions of the new health care law, which in part expands Medicaid to pick up millions more low-income people, don't take effect until 2014.
    Blacks and Hispanics disproportionately hit, based on their higher rates of unemployment.
    A possible widening of the income gap between rich and poor, at least by some measures, due partly to last year's stock market rebound while the job market languished.

Timothy Smeeding, a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor who specializes in income inequality, called the outlook for younger adults in the U.S. especially troubling. He pointed to youth discontent in other parts of the world, such as England, where he says high unemployment and widening inequality contributed to recent rioting.

"We risk a new underclass who are not able to support their children, form stable families, buy houses and reach the middle class," Smeeding said.

Where's That Green Jobs Revolution Obama Promised?

When Obama first came into office in 2009, he did so on the back of a promise to usher in a green jobs revolution of sorts -- with an intent to employ 5 million people in sectors like clean energy and efficiency improvement retrofitting. And while he did manage to secure the largest sum of funding for clean energy research and green initiatives in the stimulus bill that year, needless to say, no such 'revolution' has happened. Strides have been made, but 10% of the nation is still unemployed, and clean energy -- though growing faster than most other industries -- remains relatively small-scale. So what happened?

Politico offers an unsatisfying take:
 

President Barack Obama heads to an energy plant in North Carolina today to talk once again about the job-creating power of a green economy. The catch? Nearly three years into Obama's presidency, the White House can't point to much solid evidence that significant numbers of Americans are scoring the green jobs the president has been touting.

 Monthly Labor Department employment reports say nothing about the new clean energy workforce, while an effort to document how many Americans actually make a living in the "green collar" field may not be done by November 2012. Obama's Council of Economic Advisers suggests 225,000 clean energy jobs were either created or preserved through the third quarter of 2010 thanks to more than $80 billion in the economic stimulus package. But those are estimates at best.

Politico's article is rather silly, because the 'lack of evidence' it refers to isn't due to a lack of actual green job creation, but lack of good statistics. By the CEA's count, the stimulus created or saved around one million jobs in its first year. And there's no doubt that tax relief for green projects is helping spur the boom in cleantech -- and making it one of the nation's fastest-growing industries.

But there is a reason that we haven't seen the kind of 'Green New Deal' that many were hoping for to help get the nation's unemployed back to work and nascent clean energy industry kicked into high gear -- a lack of adequate, sustained funding. Top economists (even some of Obama's advisers) routinely called for a larger stimulus package back in 2009, and Obama didn't heed them -- largely due to immense pushback from the GOP, which was overwhelmingly opposed to the idea. Like the rest of the stimulus, the green jobs initiatives included in it were simply too small to make any transition towards a cleaner economy seem palpable.

So despite consistent gains and progress in the sector, those gains never felt front and center to the American public. And they simply weren't big enough drastically alter the nation's employment picture. If we want green jobs to take root, we're going to have to either a) direct a major, sustained boost of stimulus investment in cleantech, building efficiency, and renewable energy sectors or b) price carbon. Stripping subsidies from fossil fuel companies would help. Barring that, we won't be seeing that green jobs revolution anytime soon.

ACLU Threatening Schools to Remove Web Filters That Block Sexually Explicit Material

“I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside....”

It seems that the ACLU now wants to expose our children to sexually explicit web content, specifically that of the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) variety – while in school!

WTF?.. Do these liberal whackos think we have we lost our minds and will tolerate this abomination? Have we? Will we?

The American Civil Liberties Union is threatening to sue schools districts to remove various Web filters that block student access to websites with sexually explicit material because some of the sites blocked belong to homosexual activist groups.

The ACLU has threatened seven school districts and has already sued one of them in Missouri. The ACLU claims that not allowing children to access sites currently blocked by certain Web filters violates the students’ constitutionally protected rights and the federal Equal Access Act.

"Our Safe Schools program resources, coming-out guides, and other support and education resources that we have been providing to LGBT young people nationwide for nearly 40 years are all blocked," the ACLU stated in a release.

In response to the threats, the Alliance Defense Fund has sent letters to the school districts urging them to reject the American Civil Liberties Union’s demands that they deactivate Web filters that block student access to websites with sexually explicit material just because some of the sites blocked belong to homosexual activist groups. ADF assured the districts that they are well within their legal rights to retain their filters.

“School districts shouldn’t be bullied into exposing students to sexually explicit materials,” said ADF Senior Counsel David Cortman.

“The ‘Don’t Filter Me Initiative’ would be better named the ‘Public School Porn Initiative.’ That’s because the ACLU is pushing its radical sexual agenda for children by intimidating school districts with a long string of scare tactics disguised as a concern over censorship. In truth, these school districts have no obligation to cave to the ACLU’s unwarranted demands. Our children come first,” continued Cortman in a press statement.

The school districts the ACLU is targeting are: Camdenton R-III School District (Mo.), Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (Texas), Oroville Union High School District (Calif.), Little Rock School District (Ark.), Prince William County Public Schools (Va.), Vineland Public School District (N.J.), and Aldine Independent School District (Texas).

The school district in Prince William County in Virginia ironically did not receive the email from ADF due to the email triggering an “offensive content” filter because the letter references the sexually explicit content of websites that the ACLU wants students at the school to be able to access.

“The materials that the ACLU wants children exposed to is sexually explicit enough that just mentioning them in an e-mail to adult district officials triggers an ‘offensive content’ filter,” said ADF Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. “The ACLU cannot mask its attempts to turn school computers into porn portals for children with a supposed concern for censorship. Parents expect schools to be places where their children learn — not places where they access pornography.”

DOJ Advises Gibson Guitar to Export Labor to Madagascar (Audio)

Since when did the Department of (In)Justice get into the business relocation consulting racket? Eric Holder's corrupt agency isn't satisfied with just costing American manufacturing companies money and jobs. Now they want them to outsource labor to; of all places -  Madagascar!

This is NOT the "change" we asked for..

The Gibson Guitar saga has taken a sinister turn.

It seems that the Department of Justice wasn’t satisfied with merely raiding the law abiding factories of Gibson Guitar with armed agents, shutting down their operation costing them millions, and leaving the American company in the dark as to how to proceed without going out of business.

Now, according to CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, agents of the United States government are bluntly informing them that they’d be better off shipping their manufacturing labor overseas.

In an interview with KMJ AM’s “The Chris Daniel Show,” Juszkiewicz revealed some startling information.

    CHRIS DANIEL:  Mr. Juszkiewicz, did an agent of the US government suggest to you that your problems would go away if you used Madagascar labor instead of American labor?

    HENRY JUSZKIEWICZ:  They actually wrote that in a pleading.

    CHRIS DANIEL:  Excuse me?

    HENRY JUSKIEWICZ:   They actually wrote that it a pleading.

    CHRIS DANIEL:  That your problems would go away if you used Madagascar labor instead of our labor?

    HENRY JUSKIEWICZ:  Yes

So the government attacked them in the first place by citing obscure regulations that probably weren’t violated about importation of wood. Now they are suggesting that all these problems would go away if they simply exported their labor.

Had it simply been said in passing by an agent, one could write it off as a lone sarcastic agent, trying to push buttons.  But the fact that they actually wrote it in the pleading is a level of hubris that goes well beyond over zealous law enforcement officials and passes straight into what can easily be translated as an out of control and corrupt targeting of an American corporation.

When President Obama gives his jobs speech next week, let’s hope he has an answer for why our government would want to force and coerce corporations to send jobs overseas.
