Ron Paul "The Only Candidate I Trust" Famed Black Swan Economist Reveals (Video)

Nassim Taleb’s book The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable spent 17 weeks on the NYT bestseller list for good reason: it enlightened us to the vulnerability of, among other things, our financial system to random unpredictable events. Published in 2007, boy wasn’t that message timely, even if ignored?

This week, Taleb gave a rare interview in which he highlighted yet another timely message too many people seem to be ignoring. He warns the U.S. economy is in an even more precipitous position now, and more shockingly for such an academic, he explains, “Only one candidate, Ron Paul, seems to have grasped the issues and is offering the right remedies.”

Taleb refers to these issues as “the big four”:
1) deficits
2) the Fed
3) militarism (as opposed to defense)
4) resilience versus bailouts

On the issue of the Fed, Taleb says Paul “is going after the Fed; he’s only one with the guts to do it.”

He is quick to point out, “I am not a Libertarian, and I am not coming from a political standpoint, but from a risk-based view of the world.”

On risk, Taleb agrees with Paul: “You don’t gamble with future generations’ money, and you don’t gamble with hyperinflation.”

2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul’s economic platform of fiscal restraint, Federal Reserve skepticism, and antipathy toward self-feeding bureaucracies was praised today by one of the world’s premier risk managers, who endorsed elements of the 12-term Congressman from Texas’ path-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America.’

Nassim Taleb told CNBC that Dr. Paul’s fiscal Mayday in areas such as the threat of an impending hyperinflation tax that will harm low- and fixed-income Americans would further harm the nation’s overall economic standing. . . . In doing so, the best-selling author . . . praised the self-trained free-market economist Paul and said of Paul, “I’m a risk-based person. From my vantage point there’s only one candidate representing the right policies.”

Finally, Mr. Taleb said that Paul is the sole person in the American political landscape that has the courage to take on the Federal Reserve and recognizes that there is no conventional, quick fix to the ruinous financial situation.

Two Billionaires Side With Greg Smith Against Goldman

We've said it before and will continue to do so.. Lloyd (Pig Eyes) Blankfein and the rest of the Goldman Sachs gang are the devil.
Wake Up America!

After resigning from Goldman Sachs with guns blazing and ink burning, former executive Greg Smith can guarantee there will be no love lost for him on Wall Street. Smith, who published a widely-discussed op-ed in Wednesday morning’s New York Times, has been mocked and doubted.

Two of Smith’s supporters, however, are among the world’s wealthiest: billionaires Jim Clark and Stephen Jarislowsky.

Clark, who re-joined this year’s Forbes Billionaires List after dropping off for three years, tells me via email that Smith’s criticism of Goldman’s treatment of its customers is “what I experienced over the four to five years” he entrusted some of his funds with the firm’s private wealth management division.
Smith, a former executive director and head of the Goldman’s U.S. equity derivatives business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, wrote in his op-ed: “Over the last 12 months I have seen five different managing directors refer to their own clients as ‘muppets,’ sometimes over internal e-mail.”

American Flag with Obama's Image - A Despicable Disgrace!

Obama's Face On The American Flag - A Despicable Disgrace!
An American flag with President Obama's image in place of the stars flew over a Florida county's Democrat headquarters long enough to enrage local veterans who called the altered banner "a disgrace."

Lake County Democratic Party officials took down the flag, which flew just below a standard Old Glory on the flagpole outside headquarters in Tavares following complaints by local veterans. But merely taking it down wasn't enough for several local veterans, who said they fought for the flag Betsy Ross made famous, not one with a politician on it.

"It's absolutely disrespectful," Jim Bradford, a 71-year-old veteran who participated in the Bay of Pigs Invasion told FoxNews.com. "It's totally ridiculous. To put somebody's picture there, to me, it's a disgrace to do that."

"It's absolutely disrespectful," Jim Bradford, a 71-year-old veteran who participated in the Bay of Pigs Invasion told FoxNews.com. "It's totally ridiculous. To put somebody's picture there, to me, it's a disgrace to do that."

Bradford, an organizer with the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park in Leesburg, Fla., snapped photos of the flag and distributed them to fellow veterans and friends. By late afternoon, he and several other veterans delivered a copy of the federal flag code to Nancy Hurlbert, chairwoman of the Lake County Democratic Party.

"We read that to her, but she would not accept that," Bradford said. "The discussion finally got a little bit heated."

The flag, which had been flying for several months without complaint and is available online for $12.95, was later removed by Hurlbert.

Bradford said Hurlbert apologized for the incident, but did not offer any promises that it wouldn't fly again.

"What really upsets me is that the flag had apparently been flying for months and no one had done anything about it," Bradford said. "I've got no hard feelings toward [Hurlbert], but people will be driving by there to make sure it doesn't go up again."

Hurlbert said Tuesday's incident was the first time anyone had complained about the flag, which she received as a gift two months ago.

"It leads me to believe that it's not about the flag," she told FoxNews.com. "Certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president."

Hurlbert said she intends to contact an attorney regarding the matter and remained non-committal as to whether she'll fly the flag again.

"I won't say no and I won't say yes," she said. "We want to find out what our legal rights are."

Jenn Meale, communications director for Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, referred FoxNews.com to state laws that pertain to the use of flags on public lands and property when asked for clarification as to whether Hurlbert could face any penalties.

Statute 256.05, which covers improper use of state or United States flag, or other symbol of authority, reads: "No person shall, in any manner, for exhibition or display:

"(1) Place or cause to be placed any word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing or advertisement of any nature upon any flag, standard, color, ensign or shield of the United States or of this state, or authorized by any law of the United States or this state; or

"(2) Expose to public view any such flag, standard, color, ensign or shield upon which shall have been printed, painted or otherwise produced, or to which shall have been attached, appended, affixed or annexed any such word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing or advertisement."

Meanwhile, Jay Agg, communications director for AMVETS, told FoxNews.com that the American flag should never be altered.

"While we are pleased the flag in question has since been removed from public display, the reported fact that it had flown for months without protest is a clear indication that we have much work to do in educating the public of the importance of protecting our flag," Agg wrote in an email. "This issue is especially important to AMVETS' members, the men and women who have proudly worn our nation's uniform and served under her flag."

The final insult to veterans? The flag is made in China.

Obama's Cost Estimate For Health Insurance Aid Rises By $111B

Buried deep in Obama's budget was an increase of ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN BILLION DOLLARS for his health care insurance aid program that they tried to slip in without notice. When questioned about it, Barry O's inept administration officials tried to explain away the increase as "..budget technicalities and that there are no significant changes in the program."
Since when did $111,000,000,000 of your tax payer money become "NOT significant?"

Wake Up America!

Cost estimates for a key part of President Obama's health care overhaul law have ballooned by $111 billion from last year's budget, and a senior Republican lawmaker on Friday demanded an explanation.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., wants to know by Monday why the estimated ten-year cost of helping millions of middle-class Americans buy health insurance has jumped by about 30 percent.

Administration officials say the explanation lies in budget technicalities and that there are no significant changes in the program.

The revised numbers, buried deep in the president's budget, stumped lawmakers and some administration officials for most of the week. At a congressional hearing Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who is in charge of carrying out the health care law, indicated she was unaware of the changes.

At issue are subsidies that will be provided under the health care law to help middle class people buy private coverage in new state insurance markets that will open for business in 2014.

Last year's budget estimated the cost of the aid to be $367 billion from 2014-2011. This year's budget puts it at $478 billion over the same time period.

"This staggering increase ... cannot be explained by legislative changes or new economic assumptions, and therefore must reflect substantial changes in underlying assumptions regarding the program's ... costs," Camp wrote Friday in a letter to Sebelius and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

Republicans say they're concerned that either the estimated cost of the insurance has gone up, or that the administration has determined many more people will be losing employer coverage and going into the new government-subsidized markets, which will be called exchanges.

Administration officials say the big increase from last year's estimates is no cause for alarm and that the administration is not forecasting an erosion of employer coverage or higher insurance costs.

About two-thirds of the increase is due to effects of newly signed legislation that raises costs for one part of the health care law, but still saves the government money overall. The rest is due to technical changes in Treasury assumptions about such matters as the distribution of income in America.

"The estimates do not assume changes in what exchanges look like, the cost of insurance, or the number of Americans who will get their insurance in this new marketplace," Treasury spokeswoman Sabrina Siddiqui said in a statement Friday.

That explanation has drawn skepticism from Ways and Means Committee Republican staff members.
